ENGLISH: Located in the heart of Granada, Corral del Carbon is the oldest monument left us by the Arabs.

It was was built in the fourteenth century by Yusuf I and was Coal yard, warehousing of goods and shelter of merchants. Later in the sixteenth century, Christians adapted it for stage performances. El Corral del Carbon now hosts theatre productions and Flamenco shows in the summer months.

Open daily from 10 am. Mariana Pineda, 8.

ESPAÑOL: Es el monumento más antiguo que nos dejaron los árabes y la alhóndiga mejor conservada de la península. Fue construído en el siglo XIV por Yusuf I, y servía de almacén de mercancías para venderlas allí mismo, además de albergar a los mercaderes que pasaban por la ciudad. Más tarde, en el siglo XVI, los cristianos lo adaptaron para representaciones teatrales. El Corral del Carbón ahora alberga obras de teatro y espectáculos de flamenco en los meses de verano.

DEUTSCH: Im Herz von Granada befindet sich das älteste Monument das uns von den Arabern hinterlassen wurde, Corral del Carbon. Es wurde im fünfzehnten Jahrhundert von Yusuf I erbaut als Kohlenlager, Lagerraum für Waren und Unterschlupf für Kaufmänner und Händler. Später im sechzehnten Jahrhundert wurde es unter den Christen als Bühne für Performances genutzt. Heute finden in den Sommermonaten im Corral del Carbon  Theatervorführungen und Flamenco Shows statt.
